Our science olympiad team headed out for state in Columbia, MO on Friday. The students and faculty all came out to send them off. They made a tunnel and held up signs wishing the team good luck! The teachers made treat bags for the entire team for their 3 hour bus ride. This was the first year that Lathrop had been to state in a very long time. This very bright team finished 3rd at regionals sealing thier spot for the state trip. There was some very stiff competition. They competed against 31 teams!  The team ended up on placing in one event this year, but are to be commended for all their hard work and determination. They finished 19th out of the total 32 teams, so not bad.  Tristan placed the highest in the write it, do it event. He was 13th out of 32 teams. He took 15th out of 32 in dynamic planet and 18th place out of 32 in storm the castle. Storm the castle is the event where they tested their trebuche for accuracy. I know they learned a lot and will be ready for next year! Congratulations to them and their coaches for a great year!
